Free goal: Renewals and Upsells

Upselling, Cross Selling and Renewals

Upselling and cross selling work best when they grow out of real conversations about your customer's goals, not a pitch dropped into a renewal call. In this plan you practice the account review, a renewal at risk, the upsell, a complaint and a referral ask out loud with a live AI voice coach that plays your customer, from happy to unhappy, and gives you one thing to fix each time. Tell the coach about your accounts and the practice follows them.

How it works

How practice works with the AI coach

Creatium Coach is a live AI voice coach. You do not watch videos or fill in quizzes: you talk, it listens, and it answers like the real person would.

  1. Learn it with a guide

Each skill opens with a guided lesson. The coach explains the idea, asks you questions and checks you have it before you move on.

  2. Practice it out loud

In each practice the coach plays the other side: the interviewer, the customer, the buyer or your team. You answer in your own words, by voice.

  3. Get one thing to fix

After every answer you hear what worked and the one change that would make it stronger, then you try again until it sounds right.

  4. Make it yours

Tell the coach your role, your company or your situation and it reshapes the plan around your goal. The ready-made goal is just the start.

FAQ

Questions about upselling and cross selling

What is upselling and cross selling?

Upselling is offering a customer a higher tier, larger plan or premium version of what they already buy. Cross selling is offering a related product or service that complements what they have. Both work best when they solve a real problem the customer has told you about, rather than being pushed for their own sake. This plan has you practice opening those conversations by tying the offer to your customer's goals, with the coach playing the customer.

What is the difference between upselling and cross selling?

Upselling moves the customer up: more seats, a bigger plan or a premium version of the same product. Cross selling moves them across: adding a different product that works alongside the one they use. For example, moving from a basic to a pro plan is an upsell, while adding a training package is a cross sell. Either way, the conversation goes better when you lead with the customer's results, which is what you practice in this plan.

What are some examples of upselling?

Common examples include moving a customer to a higher software tier with more features, adding seats as their team grows, offering premium support or extending a contract term for better value. In each case the strongest approach links the upgrade to something the customer already wants, such as hitting a growth target. Talk about the return before the price. In the plan you rehearse this kind of pitch while the coach plays a client who asks hard questions.
